About This Game A reign of terror never feels so satisfying as when you leave a literal pile of rubble in your wake. Giving wizards a much-needed makeover, Fictorum is an action role-playing game that features fully-destructible structures, a randomized node-based world map, and a satisfying magic system with on-the-fly spell shaping and customization. In Fictorum, your mage wields real, legendary power right from the start—unlike those found in most magic-centric games. Our magic system uses a dynamic and intuitive spellcasting and shaping system that grants the player an unrivaled level of customization and reconfiguration. Up to three runes can be applied to a spell, each affecting a different spell characteristic. The runes are easily swapped to suit the player’s current need, interest, or whim. You might amplify ice blasts to freeze enemies in place, expand the radius of a fireball explosion to crumble a bridge and hinder pursuers, or chain a lightning attack together to strike several targets in a cluster. Shaping makes spellcasting much more tactical and satisfying.Rather than starting out as a hapless farm boy who stumbles into his powers and avoids enemies or entire areas until leveling up, players take on the role of an established wizarding badass, hell-bent on his mission for revenge. Yet challenge is abundant—the wizard must bring down a sprawling empire by himself, besting scores of bandits, cadres of Inquisitors, and hordes of corrupted abominations on his quest for vengeance. The protagonist has access to unlimited magical powers, making the game less about spamming that one spell that works passably well until it becomes upgradable. The experience is more about tailoring your magical arsenal, giving the player a wide range of freedom and the ability to effectively, efficiently, and enthusiastically destroy every obstacle. The randomly-generated world map features locations where every structure (from large buildings to bookshelves to tables to even a lone fork) can be demolished. b4d347fde0 Title: FictorumGenre: Action, Indie, RPGDeveloper:Scraping Bottom GamesPublisher:Scraping Bottom GamesRelease Date: 9 Aug, 2017 Fictorum Download Xp Honestly for eight bucks it's plenty of fun. It can be repetitive but you're also paying the price of a decent burger at this point. Runs smooth for me on a 980Ti, lots of spells to experiment with, and it really gives you the feeling of being overpowered. You can kill yourself carelessly just as easily as the enemy can kill you if you get overwhelmed. Also features the Gold Ring of ♥♥♥♥♥iness.. Ok, does this game make you want to call your mom? No. Is it fun and totally worth the $8? Yes. If you've ever just wanted a simple game that lets you wreck with OP spells and some slight RPG elements, this is it.. This game seems to have alot of replay value, you can always change how you fight any, thats like the main point of the game. 3/10Where this game ♥♥♥♥♥ the bed is all the missions are the ♥♥♥♥ing same, At first you think the maps are all different. As soon as you get to Chapter 2 its just makes you play the same levels over again. Oh there is 16 chapters, Maybe more. These Chapters get grindy my friends. Like same level over and over. I really enjoyed this game for the first 2 hours but honesty its just not worth your time id say, Unless they add like a whole entire new way to play the game. First person mode is a secret in the settings, Game is way better that way.. Soooo..... It still needs some polishing. However, when I can't believe how late it is after playing the game for a couple of hours, it can't be bad. First things first. Move the settings out to the main menu, especially display settings. I didn't think there were display settings until I stumbled upon them by mistake by pressing ESC during gameplay. Having to ALT-ENTER all the time to fullscreen was getting old fast. Story is good but there could be some more variation in the towns. Loot seems well balanced. Battles seem appropriate. Some AI could be improved. Had some enemies stuck in places not knowing how to get beyond small boundaries. I'm still getting used to the enchanting and runes system but after just a couple of hours I'm liking it. The destruction of buildings and trees is impressive. I've blown up a few houses while inside after a NPC appeared out of nowhere and scared the crap out of me. Spell casting is fun and intuitive. In some ways I wish I could wield a weapon for close combat. I've had to learn to keep people at a distance. That's more my fault as I usually tend to go for playable characters that keep their enemies closer. For an indy game, all around I recommend it. Like I said, I got lost in the gameplay and for me that spells a winner. I'd love to see how well the game improves as time goes on.. This is an absolutely fantastic game. The developers are listening to feedback AND are constantly updating it.Modding tools are also in the works, so it should be able to live for a long time on community content, if the community is able to add in anything (I.E. new skins, models, spells, maps, maybe even modes).---Its basically Slay the Spire/FTL + 3rd person action adventure games + being a mageYou get a map with randomly generated nodes. As you move forward/backward, an enemy force converges on the nodes (psudeo-blocking them ala FTL). You CAN get caught up in them and fight endless waves of enemies, but why waste your HP.Combat (aka 90% of what you'll you be doing) consists of. . .a healthy mix of reflex action and tactical planning. You get all kinds of spells, and you can apply "metaeffects" to them when casting them, which range from increasing damage, range, AoE. . .each effect you apply makes the spell cost more mana and makes it longer to cast. There are also events (all randomly generated) that can happen on the nodes too, though that takes place ala a text-based adventure if it doesn't involve combat. The game is still being updated, so who knows what the future will bring. A new gamemode is in the works, and modding is also (from what I've heard) in the works. You can't go wrong with this purchase. Reward good developers, and play an excellent game.. These guys posted to Imgur a lot. I saw the game evolve leading up to release and when I saw it on Steam I said "oh yeah!" and bought it. However, there's not a lot to it. The spellcrafting is amazing, and I love the formula in short bursts, but the maps look really simple and they're just not that incredibly interesting. It just showed up in my queue because it's 60% off, and I'm *considering* it, but I don't know. It's worth just about that much to me. I have nothing against the devs, they seem really cool (or at least their advertising guy does) but the game is just not fun over an extended period of time, which is really what I look for.Edit: Just got a dev response. I don't know how to reply to that but I wanted to say that I will give it another try. I did refund it, but I'm open to picking it up again when all the new content is added.. I have loved this game since I got it. And since then it's had many updates, adding new features and fixing many bugs. I love how ridiculously powerful you can get, but I would love to see some light and dark spells. How cool would it be to have a death ray that didn't turn people into snowmen or light them on fire. On the other hand, I have recently experienced many crashes mid-spell. Mostly with things with Abandon, my favorite rune. I hope the crashes are fixed soon. I highly recommend this game to anyone even looking at the page! The developer(s) do great work and it's quite impressive! Below, I've put a list of a few spells I would love to see in-game:* Death ray, channel spell.* A spell to summon something like shadow spears, but holding to aim it.* A healing spell of literally any kind.* Damage over time spells, other than fire. I certainly hope the developer(s) continue to work on this amazing game!. I have problems with the frame rate dropping if I use anything other than a basic attack, also the game crashes. +++++ Stupid fun combat+++ Tempered Spell Mod system++ Tactical FTL-like strategy+ Surprisingly intelligent elite mooks--- Repetitive Combat--- Repetitive Maps-- Lack of Content- Walking Simulator
